DESCRIPTION:This course will provide an excellent introduction to Theology of the Body and a solid understanding of God’s plan for humanity. The facilitators will use the DVD series from Ascension Press\, An Intro to Theology of the Body: Discovering God’s Master Plan for Your Life. \nThe course will address the two most fundamental and universal questions: \n\nWhat does it mean to be made human\, male and female\, in the image and likeness of God?\nHow can I live my life in a way that brings happiness and fulfillment?\n\nThis study is for every “body” who desires to reach his or her full potential in this life and become Fully Alive — young\, old; single\, married; clergy and religious! After graduating from college\, he served as a FOCUS missionary for three years at a college in Bowling Green\, Ohio before serving on the missionary staff of a Catholic camp in Texas before going back to Ohio as a campus minister. \n\n\nBecause he is generous to the core — in May 2023\, Justin donated one of his kidneys to a total stranger! After his recovery\, he found our job post online and in August 2024 celebrated his one year anniversary with FRP. \nLong before his employment with FRP\, Justin began taking masters level courses at the Theology of the Body Institute. He recently completed his 8th course in pursuit of his Certification in Theology of the Body. Upon completion\, he will be only the second person in the Archdiocese of Louisville with this Certification (the other being John Sohl\, FRP’s Director of Discipleship). \nJustin enjoys swing dancing and rock climbing and\, fun fact — he was born and raised in the great state of ALASKA! \nIn addition to leading TOB courses\, Justin coordinates our ministry for couples\, Catholic Couples Network\, and primarily serves as a content specialist and classroom presenter to 5th through 9th grade students for our BRIGHT and VICTORY ministries – giving presentations on the dignity of the human person and healthy relationships to students in over 40 classrooms throughout KYANA. \nJustin is committed to helping youth understand\, embrace\, and live their dignity and infinite potential; and is a great witness to and passionate about the Catholic faith. Some may say “youth minister\,” but after five years of dedication to youth\, John realized that developing disciples was the ultimate goal. \nJohn has attended and led pilgrimages to the last 5 World Youth Days: Madrid\, Spain; Rio de Janeiro\, Brazil; Kraków\, Poland; Panama City\, Panamá; and Lisbon\, Portugal (accompanied by his wife\, Crystal). \n  \nFor over six years\, John served as the only male chastity instructor in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Both are cradle Catholics\, but neither knew nor practiced their faith until each had separate conversion experiences in college. After years of friendship and growing in their relationship with the Lord\, Vincent and Lucia were married in 2023. They live in Louisville with their baby daughter\, Sofía. \nLucia\, a native of Orlando\, Florida\, is a competitive ballroom dancer; she enjoys puzzles and games\, and she directs the choir and theatre programs at Holy Angels Academy. Lucia has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and has spent the last few years teaching middle and high school mathematics at Holy Angels; she is now an Executive Assistant with St. Joseph Ministries. \nVincent grew up in Louisville\, and in his free time enjoys brewing wine and mead\, long conversations over good bourbon and a pipe\, and keeping bees with his dad. He is also a co-host of Spirit & Spire\, a podcast at the Cathedral of the Assumption. Jonathan Erdman\n \nFather Jonathan Erdman was born in Mahoning Township\, Pennsylvania in 1978. He is the son of an Episcopal Priest. Father Erdman received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Missouri – Rolla in 2000\, and his MDiv from Yale University Divinity School in 2004. He was an Episcopal priest for twelve years before he and his family converted to the Catholic Church in July of 2016. He was ordained a Catholic priest on June 29\, 2017.  \nFather Erdman and his family came to Louisville in July of 2010 from New York City\, where he served as Curate and Youth Minister at Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue. From 2010 to early 2016 he served as Rector of Calvary Episcopal Church in Louisville. Jonathan Erdman\n \nFather Jonathan Erdman was born in Mahoning Township\, Pennsylvania in 1978. He is the son of an Episcopal Priest. Father Erdman received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Missouri – Rolla in 2000\, and his MDiv from Yale University Divinity School in 2004. He was an Episcopal priest for twelve years before he and his family converted to the Catholic Church in July of 2016. He was ordained a Catholic priest on June 29\, 2017.  \nFather Erdman and his family came to Louisville in July of 2010 from New York City\, where he served as Curate and Youth Minister at Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue. From 2010 to early 2016 he served as Rector of Calvary Episcopal Church in Louisville. He and his wife\, Andrea\, have five beautiful children. \nFather Erdman is passionate about preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Despite this obscure and scandalous situation\, St. Joseph steps up to answer the call God has placed upon him to become the provider and protector of what is Salvation History. The talk was very well attended and all in attendance expressed interest in Father giving a talk on St. Joseph.  We hope you will join us on April 25 … we know you will be glad you did!  Invite your fellow parishioners\, friends\, & family to attend too! \nFacilitator:\nFather Adam Carrico was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Louisville on December 19\, 2015.  Father was born and raised in Saint Aloysius parish in Pewee Valley where he graduated from grade school in 1997. He attended Saint Xavier High School (2001) and UofL\, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history (2006). He entered Saint Meinrad Seminary in 2008 where he earned both master of divinity and master in Catholic philosophical studies degrees. Upon his ordination to the priesthood Father was assigned to Saint Gabriel as Associate Pastor\, then a year later (2016) moved to Saint Patrick as Associate Pastor while also serving at Saint Boniface. In 2019 he became the Pastor at Ascension and in 2023 the Pastor at Saint Aloysius in Shepherdsville and Saint Benedict in Lebanon Junction where he continues to serve today.  \nDuring his early years of seminary studies\, Father Carrico developed an interest in mental health advocacy and ministry. After losing his brother\, Kurtis\, to suicide in 2012\, Father’s commitment to those who suffer from mental illness and thoughts of despair deepened even more. Father is enthusiastic about many things\, including Theology of the Body and the universal truths of the human person; truths that not only renew the personhood of a man as priest of Jesus Christ\, but the personhood of those to whom every priest is called to serve. \n*Fr. All images will be used without payment or other consideration and will become the property of Family Renewal Project. \nRETREAT LEADER\, Fr. Ben Cameron\, C.P.M.\nFr. Ben Cameron was born in Kokomo\, Indiana\, and grew up as a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. During his junior high and high school years\, he attended a small Christian school that was operated by a local Baptist church. It was in that non-Catholic environment\, where his faith was often challenged\, that he began to study the Catholic Faith. \nFr. Ben is a 1991 graduate of Christendom College\, a small Catholic liberal arts college in Front Royal\, Virginia\, where he became involved in a lay apostolate known as the Legion of Mary\, which awakened his desire to share his Catholic Faith with others. Upon receiving his degree in Political Science and History\, Fr. Ben planned a career in the political arena but soon found that God had other plans. He joined the Fathers of Mercy in 1992\, studied theology at Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell\, Connecticut\, and was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on May 31\, 1997. Fr. Ben has served as Vocation Director\, Treasurer\, Mission Director and Assistant General of the Fathers of Mercy during his priesthood. He has served as a full-time parish mission preacher and retreat master (2000-2018)\, and as pastor of St. Helen’s Parish\, Glasgow\, Kentucky\, and its mission church\, Our Lady of the Caves in Horse Cave\, Kentucky (2018-2022). Currently\, he is again serving as a full-time parish mission preacher and retreat master. \nThe Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy was founded in 1808\, originally under the title of the “Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the French people after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now an exclusively American community. The Generalate of the community is located a few miles outside of Bowling Green\, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats\, which are now given throughout the United States\, Canada and Australia. \nDuring this “Servants of the Secret Fire” retreat\, Fr.
