DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, October 22\, 2024 – the Feast of our patron\, Pope Saint John Paul II – Family Renewal Project will host our 4th Annual “Fully Alive” Banquet! \nFor the first time\, we are very excited to host our Banquet on our Patron’s feast day … you and your guests can look forward to several unique offerings in honor of Saint JPII. \nIt is sure to be a spectacular evening for you\, your family\, and your invited guests! \n****\n  \nAbout our Fully Alive Keynote Speaker\, Damon Owens: \n \nDamon is an international speaker and evangelist; in July\, he spoke at the National Eucharistic Congress. \nHe was the first executive director of the Theology of the Body Institute. \nHe has dedicated three decades to evangelizing through the renewal of healthy relationship\, marriage\, and the family and speaks to a wide range of audiences around the world sharing the good news of marriage\, sexuality\, Theology of the Body\, Theology of the Family\, adoption and Natural Family Planning (he and his wife taught NFP for 14 years). \nIn 2018\, he received the Benemerenti Papal Medal from Pope Francis for his work supporting marriage and family. \nIn 2020\, Damon and his wife\, Melanie\, founded Joyful Ever After\, a non-profit ministry dedicated to encouraging and educating couples to understand and live marriage and family life through the teachings of St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. \nIn addition to serving as the executive director of Joyful Ever After\, Damon is the National Parish Engagement Officer for Communio\, a non-profit that trains and equips churches to evangelize through the renewal of healthy relationship\, marriages\, and the family. \nDamon is an accomplished gospel singer and was honored with a solo during the 1995 New Jersey Papal Mass at Giants Stadium presided by Pope St. John Paul II. \nHe and his wife Melanie have eight children and live outside Philadelphia. \n***** \nAfter another SOLD OUT event last year\, we are moving to a larger venue — \nThe DaVinci Room at Mellwood Art Center\n1860 Mellwood Ave\, Louisville\, KY 40206 \n6:00pm | Doors Open with Cash Bar\n7:00pm | Program and Dinner begins\n9pm| Adjourn \nThere is no cost to attend\, but reservations are required. \nThe banquet is less than one week away and remaining seats are very limited! See below for contact information. \n*****\n\n\n\n  \nOur guest speaker\, Father Adam Potter\, grew up in Pittsburgh and is blessed with amazing parents\, five younger siblings\, one niece\, and one newborn nephew! When Father was in 7th grade his mother had a reversion to the Catholic faith. As her faith grew so did that of her husband and their children; paving the way for Adam to become a priest and her husband\, a permanent deacon (ordained in 2020). \nIn 2016\, Father was ordained as a Priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. He now serves as the Parochial Vicar of Mary\, Mother of God Parish in McKeesport and White Oak\, as Chaplain at Serra Catholic High School\, and Chaplain to the Pittsburgh Courage Chapter that walks with individuals experiencing same-sex attraction. \nFather studied at the John Paul II Institute in Rome and is passionate about promoting the Church’s vision for marriage and family. \nFather is part of Dry Bones Ministries\, a non-profit seeking to aid evangelization efforts in Pittsburgh; Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Camp and Retreat Center\, a summer camp for youth; as well as Pittsburgh Pure\, a full-stop site for best resources on issues & questions related to the Church’s teachings on human sexuality. \n***** \nDoors will open for a social hour at 6pm (cash bar); the program (including a delicious dinner) will begin at 7pm and we will adjourn no later than 9pm. \n  \n*Non-mobile infants are welcome!  \n\n  \nThere is NO COST to attend\, but reservations are REQUIRED. On June 2\, 8\, and 15 at Holy Family Catholic Church\, Family Renewal Project invites  all teachers\, catechists\, & other adults to experience this journey with us! During our time together\, you will: renew an awareness of the dignity & beauty of the human person; experience a deeper appreciation for God’s creation; explore the gift of Wonder & Awe\, Understanding\, & Counsel through the lens of Theology of the Body; and discover your story through the mystery of God who became flesh. \n \n\nFacilitator:\n \nJohn Sohl\nJohn is a graduate of Western Kentucky University who loves hunting\, fishing\, hiking\, theater\, videography and playing baseball. \nAfter discerning the call to the priesthood\, John transitioned from seminary to the role of discipleship leader in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Some may say “youth minister\,” but after five years of dedication to youth\, John realized that developing disciples was the ultimate goal. \nJohn has attended & led pilgrimages to the last 4 World Youth Days: Madrid\, Spain; Rio de Janeiro\, Brazil; Kraków\, Poland; Panama City\, Panamá and he and his wife are planning to attend together this year in Lisbon\, Portugal. \nFor over six years\, John served as the only male chastity instructor in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Every school year he & one of his female counterparts would teach a multi-day course at over 40 schools (Catholic\, private\, and public). \nJohn is now the first and only person in the Archdiocese of Louisville to have completed his Master’s Certification in Theology of the Body from the TOB Institute … a major accomplishment! \nJohn married his wonderful wife\, Crystal in October of 2019. THANK YOU! \n\n\n\n\nAfter a SOLD OUT event last year\, we are moving to a larger venue — The Van Gogh Room at Mellwood Art Center {1860 Mellwood Ave\, Louisville\, KY 40206}\n\n\nDoors will open for a social hour at 6pm (includes a cash bar & book tables); the program (including a delicious dinner) will begin at 7pm. *Nursing infants are welcome!Our special guest speaker will be the very knowledgeable and well versed\, Mrs. Mary Rice Hasson!\n\n\nAs an attorney and policy expert\, Mrs. Hasson was a keynote speaker for the Holy See during the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women\, addressing education (2018)\, women and work (2017)\, caregiving (2019)\, and gender ideology (2019).\nShe currently serves as a consultant to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Laity\, Marriage\, Family\, Life and Youth. \nMary is the Senior Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center\, D.C.’s premier institute working to apply the riches of the Judeo-Christian tradition to contemporary questions of law\, culture\, and politics\, in pursuit of America’s continued civic and cultural renewal.\nDirector of the Catholic Women’s Forum\, on mission to amplify the voice of Catholic women—within the culture and the Church—in support of Catholic teachings.  Pope St. John Paul II wrote that women are specially tasked with “bringing full dignity to the conjugal life and motherhood” and “assuring the moral dimension of culture…a culture worthy of the person.” (Christifideles Laici\, 51).\nCo-Founder of the Person and Identity Project\, a new initiative that equips parents and faith-based institutions to counter gender ideology and promote the truth of the human person.\nRead her full bio HERE\n\n\nThere is NO cost to attend\, but reservations are REQUIRED.
