Both are cradle Catholics\, but neither knew nor practiced their faith until each had separate conversion experiences in college. After years of friendship and growing in their relationship with the Lord\, Vincent and Lucia were married in 2023. They live in Louisville with their baby daughter\, Sofía. \nLucia\, a native of Orlando\, Florida\, is a competitive ballroom dancer; she enjoys puzzles and games\, and she directs the choir and theatre programs at Holy Angels Academy. Lucia has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and has spent the last few years teaching middle and high school mathematics at Holy Angels; she is now an Executive Assistant with St. Joseph Ministries. \nVincent grew up in Louisville\, and in his free time enjoys brewing wine and mead\, long conversations over good bourbon and a pipe\, and keeping bees with his dad. He is also a co-host of Spirit & Spire\, a podcast at the Cathedral of the Assumption. Vincent is a full-time employee of Family Renewal Project\, presenting a virtue-based ‘healthy relationships’ program to middle & high school students during the school day and occasionally facilitates other FRP offerings (including this one!). \nVincent and Lucia are passionate about Theology of the Body\, and are excited to share their passion with you! \n  \n\n\nRegister for Event\nFill out my online form.\n \n

Approaching these topics &/or providing appropriate responses to questions often induces anxiety in parents because they either feel uncomfortable or uncertain OR because they fear their responses may influence their children to act in a certain way.  “YOU“ is here for you and your teens. \nIn our current culture\, teens receive conflicting messages everywhere they turn. To be prepared to make decisions and live independently\, they deserve to know more than the rules of what’s right and wrong. \n“YOU” will provide the whys behind the whats\, and pave the way to authentic freedom and true happiness! \nPersonhood is being challenged in ways that our parents and grandparents could have never imagined! Providentially\, Saint John Paul II’s writings and vision of the human person known as “Theology of the Body” has come to us for a time such as this! \n“YOU” is based on Theology of the Body and the teachings of the Catholic Church! \n\n \n\n\n\n\nYOU. After college he served as a permanent substitute high school history teacher at a local Catholic school. \n\n\n\n\n  \n \n  \nMaria holds a BA in Psychology. After college she served as a private aide for a kindergarten student with Down Syndrome at a local Catholic school. \n\n\n  \n\n\n \n\n\n  \n\n\nJustin holds a BA in Theology and is pursuing a MS in Psychology. After college he served as a FOCUS missionary for three years in Ohio. Justin has completed (6) masters level courses at the Theology of the Body Institute in pursuit of this TOB Certification. \n  \nCurrently\, Vincent\, Maria\, & Justin all serve as Content Specialists & Presenters for Family Renewal Project. As a Team they givepresentations on ‘healthy relationships’ to middle & highschoolers in over 40 schools throughout KYANA. All information is shared with utmost respect and sensitivity in an age-appropriate manner and faithful to the magisterium of the Church. \nHonoring that you\, as parents\, are the first and primary teachers of your children; this program will supplement & in some cases provide information you teach at home. Your role in shaping your children’s lives is pivotal. Even if it does not appear to be so\, they are watching and listening to you. Studies show again and again that parents have the largest influence on their children. In his free time\, Preston enjoys golf\, running\, and working on house projects with his wife. \nAmanda was introduced to Theology of the Body [TOB] through her high school youth group and during her senior year of high school she read TOB for Beginners by Christopher West. At the time\, she could have never imagined the positive impact TOB would have on her future friendships & relationships.  In 2019\, while they were dating\, Preston was introduced to TOB when he and Amanda together read Dr. Edward Sri’s very popular book\, “Men\, Women\, and the Mystery of Love”.  Since then\, Preston has latched onto many of Christopher West’s teachings by attending a live Made for More event\, becoming a weekly listener of the Ask Christopher West podcast\, and making a TOB pilgrimage to Fatima and Spain in 2022. \nAmanda & Preston brought Theology of the Body into their relationship at the very beginning and keep it at the center. They recognize that their faith and TOB shaped and guided them in building a sturdy foundation for the Sacrament of Matrimony and they continue to use the teachings to guide them in their decisions and grow closer in relationship to God. In his free time\, Preston enjoys golf\, running\, and working on house projects with his wife. \nAmanda was introduced to Theology of the Body [TOB] through her high school youth group and during her senior year of high school she read TOB for Beginners by Christopher West. At the time\, she could have never imagined the positive impact TOB would have on her future friendships & relationships.  In 2019\, while they were dating\, Preston was introduced to TOB when he and Amanda together read Dr. Edward Sri’s very popular book\, “Men\, Women\, and the Mystery of Love”.  Since then\, Preston has latched onto many of Christopher West’s teachings by attending a live Made for More event\, becoming a weekly listener of the Ask Christopher West podcast\, and making a TOB pilgrimage to Fatima and Spain in 2022. \nAmanda & Preston brought Theology of the Body into their relationship at the very beginning and keep it at the center. They recognize that their faith and TOB shaped and guided them in building a sturdy foundation for the Sacrament of Matrimony and they continue to use the teachings to guide them in their decisions and grow closer in relationship to God. They often say\, “we wouldn’t be here without it.” \n\nThe Frenches were united in marriage in 2021 and gave birth to their first child in 2022. DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, September 14\, 2022 – the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross – Family Renewal Project will host our 3rd Annual “Fully Alive” Banquet!! \nWe hope YOU can be there! \nA FEW seats remain available. These will be reserved on a first come / first serve basis. See below for contact information. \n*****\n\n\n\n  \nOur guest speaker\, Father Adam Potter\, grew up in Pittsburgh and is blessed with amazing parents\, five younger siblings\, one niece\, and one newborn nephew! When Father was in 7th grade his mother had a reversion to the Catholic faith. As her faith grew so did that of her husband and their children; paving the way for Adam to become a priest and her husband\, a permanent deacon (ordained in 2020). \nIn 2016\, Father was ordained as a Priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. He now serves as the Parochial Vicar of Mary\, Mother of God Parish in McKeesport and White Oak\, as Chaplain at Serra Catholic High School\, and Chaplain to the Pittsburgh Courage Chapter that walks with individuals experiencing same-sex attraction. \nFather studied at the John Paul II Institute in Rome and is passionate about promoting the Church’s vision for marriage and family. \nFather is part of Dry Bones Ministries\, a non-profit seeking to aid evangelization efforts in Pittsburgh; Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Camp and Retreat Center\, a summer camp for youth; as well as Pittsburgh Pure\, a full-stop site for best resources on issues & questions related to the Church’s teachings on human sexuality. \n***** \nDoors will open for a social hour at 6pm (cash bar); the program (including a delicious dinner) will begin at 7pm and we will adjourn no later than 9pm. \n  \n*Non-mobile infants are welcome!  \n\n  \nThere is NO COST to attend\, but reservations are REQUIRED.
