This course is one we only offer every 2-3 years\, so don’t miss this opportunity to take the next step and go even deeper into Saint John Paul II’s teachings. \nIf you can’t attend in-person\, we are offering a virtual option!!  \nPre-requisite: Intro to Theology of the Body: TOB1 or equivalent  [This can include online courses from other instructors\, books you’ve read\, etc.  If you’re not sure\, just ask.] \n*The courses offered by Family Renewal Project will not fulfill any requirements for the Certification Program offered through the TOB Institute. \n\n\nThis 8-part series on Wednesday evenings will move you deeper into the life-changing message of Theology of the Body\, enabling you to apply and integrate these teachings into every aspect of your life. The FRP instructors will use the DVD series from Ascension Press entitled\,  Into the Heart. This is actually a 16-part study that we have condensed into 8 sessions \nReceive the tools necessary to develop the sacramental worldview so crucial to living an authentic human sexuality. Learn what saints and mystics alike have always known: a life of ecstasy and deep union with God is not only possible—it is actually a lot closer than you think. Some may say “youth minister\,” but after five years of dedication to youth\, John realized that developing disciples was the ultimate goal. \nJohn has attended & led pilgrimages to the last 5 World Youth Days: Madrid\, Spain; Rio de Janeiro\, Brazil; Kraków\, Poland; Panama City\, Panamá and he and his wife attended WYD in Lisbon\, Portugal in 2023. \nFor over six years\, John served as the only male chastity instructor in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Every school year he & one of his female counterparts would teach a multi-day course at over 40 schools (Catholic\, private\, and public). \nJohn is the first and currently the only person in the Archdiocese of Louisville to have completed his Master’s Certification in Theology of the Body from the TOB Institute … a major accomplishment! \nJohn married his wonderful wife\, Crystal in October of 2019. Together they strive to understand\, embrace and live Theology of the Body! After many years of struggling with infertility\, they are expecting their first child in late September. \n******************** \n\n\n \n\nJustin Leiner\nFRP Classroom Presenter & Content Specialist \nJustin was born & raised in the great state of Alaska! He enjoys swing dancing and rock climbing and is a generous self-giver (he donated one of his kidneys to a total stranger)! \nJustin has a degree in Theology from St. John’s University (Collegeville\, MN) and is currently pursuing a Masters in Psychology from Divine Mercy University. After graduating from college he served as a FOCUS missionary for three years at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green\, Ohio. \nJustin has completed the 8 required masters level courses at the Theology of the Body Institute in pursuit of his Certification in Theology of the Body. DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, October 22\, 2024 – the Feast of our patron\, Pope Saint John Paul II – Family Renewal Project will host our 4th Annual “Fully Alive” Banquet! \nFor the first time\, we are very excited to host our Banquet on our Patron’s feast day … you and your guests can look forward to several unique offerings in honor of Saint JPII. \nIt is sure to be a spectacular evening for you\, your family\, and your invited guests! \n****\n  \nAbout our Fully Alive Keynote Speaker\, Damon Owens: \n \nDamon is an international speaker and evangelist; in July\, he spoke at the National Eucharistic Congress. \nHe was the first executive director of the Theology of the Body Institute. \nHe has dedicated three decades to evangelizing through the renewal of healthy relationship\, marriage\, and the family and speaks to a wide range of audiences around the world sharing the good news of marriage\, sexuality\, Theology of the Body\, Theology of the Family\, adoption and Natural Family Planning (he and his wife taught NFP for 14 years). \nIn 2018\, he received the Benemerenti Papal Medal from Pope Francis for his work supporting marriage and family. \nIn 2020\, Damon and his wife\, Melanie\, founded Joyful Ever After\, a non-profit ministry dedicated to encouraging and educating couples to understand and live marriage and family life through the teachings of St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. \nIn addition to serving as the executive director of Joyful Ever After\, Damon is the National Parish Engagement Officer for Communio\, a non-profit that trains and equips churches to evangelize through the renewal of healthy relationship\, marriages\, and the family. \nDamon is an accomplished gospel singer and was honored with a solo during the 1995 New Jersey Papal Mass at Giants Stadium presided by Pope St. John Paul II. \nHe and his wife Melanie have eight children and live outside Philadelphia. \n***** \nAfter another SOLD OUT event last year\, we are moving to a larger venue — \nThe DaVinci Room at Mellwood Art Center\n1860 Mellwood Ave\, Louisville\, KY 40206 \n6:00pm | Doors Open with Cash Bar\n7:00pm | Program and Dinner begins\n9pm| Adjourn \nThere is no cost to attend\, but reservations are required. \nThe banquet is less than one week away and remaining seats are very limited! SUMMARY:TOB 1: Intro to Theology of the Body Crash Course
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n\n  \nThis course will provide an excellent introduction to Theology of the Body and a solid understanding of God’s plan for humanity. The facilitators will use the DVD series from Ascension Press\, An Intro to Theology of the Body: Discovering God’s Master Plan for Your Life. (Written as an 8-part study to gather weekly for 8 weeks\, we’ve consolidated all 8 sessions into this crash course with time for reflection\, discussion\, and prayer.) \nThe course will address the two most fundamental and universal questions: \n\nWhat does it mean to be made human\, male and female\, in the image and likeness of God?\nHow can I live my life in a way that brings happiness and fulfillment?\n\nThis study is for every “body” who desires to reach his or her full potential in this life and become Fully Alive — young\, old; single\, married; clergy and religious! After years of friendship and growing in their relationship with the Lord\, Vincent and Lucia were married in 2023. They live in Louisville with their baby daughter\, Sofía. \nLucia\, a native of Orlando\, Florida\, is a competitive ballroom dancer; she enjoys puzzles and games\, and she directs the choir and theatre programs at Holy Angels Academy. Lucia has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and has spent the last few years teaching middle and high school mathematics at Holy Angels; she is now an Executive Assistant with St. Joseph Ministries. \nVincent grew up in Louisville\, and in his free time enjoys brewing wine and mead\, long conversations over good bourbon and a pipe\, and keeping bees with his dad. He is also a co-host of Spirit & Spire\, a podcast at the Cathedral of the Assumption. Both are cradle Catholics\, but neither knew nor practiced their faith until each had separate conversion experiences in college. After years of friendship and growing in their relationship with the Lord\, Vincent and Lucia were married in 2023. They live in Louisville with their baby daughter\, Sofía. \nLucia\, a native of Orlando\, Florida\, is a competitive ballroom dancer; she enjoys puzzles and games\, and she directs the choir and theatre programs at Holy Angels Academy. Lucia has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and has spent the last few years teaching middle and high school mathematics at Holy Angels; she is now an Executive Assistant with St. Joseph Ministries. \nVincent grew up in Louisville\, and in his free time enjoys brewing wine and mead\, long conversations over good bourbon and a pipe\, and keeping bees with his dad.
