SUMMARY:TOB Primer | The Call to Greatness: What the Church Actually Teaches about Sex and the Body
DESCRIPTION:  \n\nDate: Tuesday\, June 10\nTime: 6:30pm — 8:30pm\nLocation: St. Edward Catholic Church (9608 Sue Helen Drive\, Louisville\, KY 40299)\nCost: $8 per Individual | $12 per Couple/Household | FREE for Clergy\, College Students\, and Missionaries (Includes Handouts\, Snacks\, and Drinks)\nRegistration: Please complete the form at the end of the page. \nCourse Description:\nThis 2-hour investment of your time will provide an excellent introduction to what the Catholic Church actually teaches about human sexuality\, the body\, and our creation in the image of God\, male and female. \nOur culture today is saturated in sexual confusion. People of all ages are desperately seeking happiness\, and whether they realize it or not\, they long for what is good\, true\, and beautiful. But the noise\, the lies\, and the chaos lead us to all the wrong places and ways of thinking. \nAttend on Tuesday\, June 10 and leave with a solid understanding of God’s plan for humanity. \nPlease note: this presentation is designed for a more mature audience. Content includes nuanced discussions of sex and marriage and is not suitable for all audiences. Children under the age of 18 can attend at the discretion of their parents (guardian) and must be accompanied by an adult.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor questions or additional information\, please contact us:\ncall/text: (502) 303-1996\nemail: info@familyrenewalproject.com \n  \n\n\nFacilitator:\n\n\n\n\nVincent Ricketts \nVincent is a native of Louisville! In his free time\, he enjoys brewing wine and mead\, long conversations over good bourbon and spending time with his family; he is also a co-host of Spirit & Spire\, a podcast recorded at the Cathedral of the Assumption. \nVincent serves full-time as the Associate Director of Discipleship with Family Renewal Project and has responsibility for scheduling\, managing\, and presenting with the Team of classroom presenters who deliver a virtue-based healthy relationships course to 5th-9th grade students in approximately 40 schools throughout the area. He is passionate about Theology of the Body and as time permits he enjoys facilitating other FRP offerings like this one! \n  \n\n\nRegister for Event\nFill out my online form.

Some may say “youth minister\,” but after five years of dedication to youth\, John realized that developing disciples is the ultimate goal. \nJohn has attended and led pilgrimages to the last 5 World Youth Days: Madrid\, Spain; Rio de Janeiro\, Brazil; Kraków\, Poland; Panama City\, Panamá; and Lisbon\, Portugal (accompanied by his wife\, Crystal). \nFor over six years (2015-2022)\, John served as the only male chastity instructor in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Every school year he and one of his female counterparts would teach a multi-day course at over 40 schools (Catholic\, private\, and public). \nIn March 2022\, John became the first and remains the only person in the Archdiocese of Louisville to complete his master’s level coursework [eight 30-hour immersion courses\, testing\, papers\, and an in-depth practicum] and receive the distinguished Certification in Theology of the Body from the TOB Institute — a major accomplishment! \nTogether\, John and his wife\, Crystal\, strive to understand\, embrace\, and live Theology of the Body! They were married in October of 2019 and after four years of infertility\, they welcomed their first child (a daughter) in September of 2024. \n\nRegistration:\nFill out my online form.

Level 2 – Understanding Exodus and Level 3 – The Purpose of Christmas will be offered later this year. \nCourses are approved for ArchLou Catechist Credit. \nDuring our time together\, you will:\n\nRenew an awareness of the dignity and beauty of the human person\nExperience a deeper appreciation for God’s creation\nExplore the gift of Wonder & Awe through the lens of Theology of the Body\nDiscover your story through the mystery of God who became flesh\n\nRegistration:\nSo we can plan accordingly\, please pre-register by scrolling down to complete the online registration form. Cost is $15 per person. \nAnyone seeking Catechist Credit through the ArchLou Office of Faith Formation\, must pre-register (for your convenience\, we can submit an invoice to your parish or school). \nIn addition to the study guide\, we will provide drinks and snacks throughout the day. \nFor lunch: you can either bring your own or pre-pay when you register and we will have lunch available for you. ($12 per lunch) \n\nFacilitator:\n \nJohn Sohl serves full-time as the Director of Discipleship for Family Renewal Project. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University who loves hunting\, fishing\, hiking\, theater\, videography\, and playing baseball. \nAfter discerning the call to the priesthood\, John transitioned from seminary to the role of discipleship leader in the Archdiocese of Louisville. \n  \nQuestions? SUMMARY:Life-Giving Wounds Retreat
DESCRIPTION:  \nFamily Renewal Project is pleased to sponsor\nthe inaugural Life-Giving Wounds Retreat in Louisville\nMarch 21-23\, 2025\non the campus of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church\n1104 S 6th Street\, Louisville\, KY 40203 \nTo register\, please complete the form below. \nClick HERE for a list of nearby hotel options. \nRetreat Info:\nNo matter your age when it happened\, the effects of your parents’ divorce or separation are deep and long-lasting. Life-Giving Wounds is a national ministry specifically for adults (18+) whose parents are divorced or separated — providing a unique opportunity for men and women who are the children of divorced or separated parents to give voice to their pain and experience Christ’s transformational healing\, together with peers who know the challenges that broken homes cause. \nOn the retreat\, participants will hear inspiring witness talks from fellow adult children of divorce; discuss their own experiences in compassionate peer-led small groups; receive many opportunities for prayer\, the sacraments and more. The retreat will cover the following topics: grieving the loss\, rediscovering our identity\, recovering our faith\, regulating our emotions\, growing in virtue\, striving for forgiveness\, establishing boundaries\, and more. \nThe chaplain for the Louisville retreat will be Fr. John Baptist Hoang\, OP. Learn more about Father HERE. \nEspecially during the season of Lent\, this retreat will be a great way to start or continue the journey of healing. Come for a greater understanding of the wound left by your parents’ divorce or separation\, for advice concerning love and trust of others\, and for an experience of Christ and community that will lead to greater self-understanding and healing. \nThe Louisville retreat will be held onsite at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church (1104 S 6th Street; Louisville\, KY 40203). This is a commuter retreat. Lodging is not provided. Click here for a list of nearby hotel options. \nLife-Giving Wounds retreats are Catholic retreats and include sacraments (Eucharist and Confession) and Catholic spiritual practices such as the Divine Mercy Chaplet. At the same time\, we try to make everyone feel welcome\, regardless of their religious background. The key commonality of all retreatants is the pain of parental divorce or separation. For non-Catholics\, we provide options of personal prayer times if individuals do not want to participate in a certain activity. And\, if desired\, retreat leaders can “walk through” the retreat with a non-Catholic in advance\, to explain the different and possibly unfamiliar elements. \nClick HERE for answers to Frequently Asked Questions. \nDAILY SCHEDULE & BASIC OVERVIEW:\nFriday\, March 21 — 7pm – 9pm\nSnacks & Drinks\nIntroductions / Overview / Opening Session \nSaturday\, March 22 — 8am – 8:30pm\n(with optional social hour til 9:30pm)\nBreakfast\, Lunch\, & Dinner + Snacks & Drinks\nTalks / Small Groups / Personal Time\nDaily Mass\, Adoration\, & Sacrament of Reconciliation \nSunday\, March 23 — 8am – 3:30pm\nBreakfast & Lunch + Snacks & Drinks\nFinal Talks / Small Groups / Personal Time\nSunday Mass \nCOST:\nMust be at least 18 years old \n$175 per person\n$125 for college students and missionaries \nDaily meals\, snacks\, drinks\, and all retreat materials are included in the cost.\nClick here for a list of nearby hotel options. \nIf cost is a hardship\, we have limited scholarship funds available; please complete the registration form accordingly. \nREFUND POLICY:\nCancellations must be submitted in writing (via email to info@familyrenewalproject.com). \nNotifications submitted before February 21\, 2025 (1 month before the retreat) will be refunded 100% of amount already paid. \nNotifications submitted between February 22 – March 7\, 2025 will be refunded 50% of amount already paid. \nNo refunds will be issued after March 7\, 2025.  \n\nRegister for Event\nFill out my online form.

Both are cradle Catholics\, but neither knew nor practiced their faith until each had separate conversion experiences in college. After years of friendship and growing in their relationship with the Lord\, Vincent and Lucia were married in 2023. They live in Louisville with their baby daughter\, Sofía. \nLucia\, a native of Orlando\, Florida\, is a competitive ballroom dancer; she enjoys puzzles and games\, and she directs the choir and theatre programs at Holy Angels Academy. Lucia has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and has spent the last few years teaching middle and high school mathematics at Holy Angels; she is now an Executive Assistant with St. Joseph Ministries. \nVincent grew up in Louisville\, and in his free time enjoys brewing wine and mead\, long conversations over good bourbon and a pipe\, and keeping bees with his dad. He is also a co-host of Spirit & Spire\, a podcast at the Cathedral of the Assumption. Vincent is a full-time employee of Family Renewal Project\, presenting a virtue-based ‘healthy relationships’ program to middle & high school students during the school day and occasionally facilitates other FRP offerings (including this one!). \nVincent and Lucia are passionate about Theology of the Body\, and are excited to share their passion with you! \n  \n \n\n\nRegister for Event\nFill out my online form.
