SUMMARY:Inspired Level 1: The Wonders of Genesis
DESCRIPTION:Inspired Level 1: An Advanced Seminar on The Wonders of Genesis\nDate: Saturday\, April 12\, 2025\nTime: 8am – 4pm\nLocation: St. Luke Catholic Church (Education Center)\nCost: $15 (option to add $12 lunch) \nInspiration comes to us in many ways. However\, God anticipates our needs as a Bridegroom and gives us true spiritual nourishment in deeply profound ways\, especially when we seek it out. \nIf you are seeking truth\, goodness\, and beauty on a level that can bring healing\, peace\, and trust in a merciful Father\, this course may play a key role in your ability to discover and share such love. \nInspired: The Wonders of Genesis is an advanced seminar and includes a comprehensive study guide to aid in receptivity and openness to the Holy Spirit. This is the beginning of FRP’s flagship formation series designed to guide participants through the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit and to fullness of the truth about our unique call to love. \nAll highly-motivated and receptive parents\, teachers\, catechists\, and other adults are invited to be Inspired! \nLevel 1 – The Wonders of Genesis focuses on the beauty of God’s Creation through the lens of spousal love with JPII’s Theology of the Body as our guiding thread. Level 2 – Understanding Exodus and Level 3 – The Purpose of Christmas will be offered later this year. \nCourses are approved for ArchLou Catechist Credit. \nDuring our time together\, you will:\n\nRenew an awareness of the dignity and beauty of the human person\nExperience a deeper appreciation for God’s creation\nExplore the gift of Wonder & Awe through the lens of Theology of the Body\nDiscover your story through the mystery of God who became flesh\n\nRegistration:\nSo we can plan accordingly\, please pre-register by scrolling down to complete the online registration form. Cost is $15 per person. \nAnyone seeking Catechist Credit through the ArchLou Office of Faith Formation\, must pre-register (for your convenience\, we can submit an invoice to your parish or school). \nIn addition to the study guide\, we will provide drinks and snacks throughout the day. \nFor lunch: you can either bring your own or pre-pay when you register and we will have lunch available for you. ($12 per lunch) \n\nFacilitator:\n \nJohn Sohl serves full-time as the Director of Discipleship for Family Renewal Project. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University who loves hunting\, fishing\, hiking\, theater\, videography\, and playing baseball. \nAfter discerning the call to the priesthood\, John transitioned from seminary to the role of discipleship leader in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Some may say “youth minister\,” but after five years of dedication to youth\, John realized that developing disciples is the ultimate goal. \nJohn has attended and led pilgrimages to the last 5 World Youth Days: Madrid\, Spain; Rio de Janeiro\, Brazil; Kraków\, Poland; Panama City\, Panamá; and Lisbon\, Portugal (accompanied by his wife\, Crystal). \nFor over six years (2015-2022)\, John served as the only male chastity instructor in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Every school year he and one of his female counterparts would teach a multi-day course at over 40 schools (Catholic\, private\, and public). \nIn March 2022\, John became the first and remains the only person in the Archdiocese of Louisville to complete his master’s level coursework [eight 30-hour immersion courses\, testing\, papers\, and an in-depth practicum] and receive the distinguished Certification in Theology of the Body from the TOB Institute — a major accomplishment! \nTogether\, John and his wife\, Crystal\, strive to understand\, embrace\, and live Theology of the Body! They were married in October of 2019 and after four years of infertility\, they welcomed their first child (a daughter) in September of 2024. \n  \nQuestions? SUMMARY:Life-Giving Wounds Retreat
DESCRIPTION:  \nFamily Renewal Project is pleased to sponsor\nthe inaugural Life-Giving Wounds Retreat in Louisville\nMarch 21-23\, 2025\non the campus of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church\n1104 S 6th Street\, Louisville\, KY 40203 \nTo register\, please complete the form below. \nClick HERE for a list of nearby hotel options. \nRetreat Info:\nNo matter your age when it happened\, the effects of your parents’ divorce or separation are deep and long-lasting. Life-Giving Wounds is a national ministry specifically for adults (18+) whose parents are divorced or separated — providing a unique opportunity for men and women who are the children of divorced or separated parents to give voice to their pain and experience Christ’s transformational healing\, together with peers who know the challenges that broken homes cause. \nOn the retreat\, participants will hear inspiring witness talks from fellow adult children of divorce; discuss their own experiences in compassionate peer-led small groups; receive many opportunities for prayer\, the sacraments and more. The retreat will cover the following topics: grieving the loss\, rediscovering our identity\, recovering our faith\, regulating our emotions\, growing in virtue\, striving for forgiveness\, establishing boundaries\, and more. \nThe chaplain for the Louisville retreat will be Fr. John Baptist Hoang\, OP. Learn more about Father HERE. \nEspecially during the season of Lent\, this retreat will be a great way to start or continue the journey of healing. Come for a greater understanding of the wound left by your parents’ divorce or separation\, for advice concerning love and trust of others\, and for an experience of Christ and community that will lead to greater self-understanding and healing. \nThe Louisville retreat will be held onsite at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church (1104 S 6th Street; Louisville\, KY 40203). This is a commuter retreat. Lodging is not provided. Click here for a list of nearby hotel options. \nLife-Giving Wounds retreats are Catholic retreats and include sacraments (Eucharist and Confession) and Catholic spiritual practices such as the Divine Mercy Chaplet. At the same time\, we try to make everyone feel welcome\, regardless of their religious background. The key commonality of all retreatants is the pain of parental divorce or separation. For non-Catholics\, we provide options of personal prayer times if individuals do not want to participate in a certain activity. And\, if desired\, retreat leaders can “walk through” the retreat with a non-Catholic in advance\, to explain the different and possibly unfamiliar elements. \nClick HERE for answers to Frequently Asked Questions. \nDAILY SCHEDULE & BASIC OVERVIEW:\nFriday\, March 21 — 7pm – 9pm\nSnacks & Drinks\nIntroductions / Overview / Opening Session \nSaturday\, March 22 — 8am – 8:30pm\n(with optional social hour til 9:30pm)\nBreakfast\, Lunch\, & Dinner + Snacks & Drinks\nTalks / Small Groups / Personal Time\nDaily Mass\, Adoration\, & Sacrament of Reconciliation \nSunday\, March 23 — 8am – 3:30pm\nBreakfast & Lunch + Snacks & Drinks\nFinal Talks / Small Groups / Personal Time\nSunday Mass \nCOST:\nMust be at least 18 years old \n$175 per person\n$125 for college students and missionaries \nDaily meals\, snacks\, drinks\, and all retreat materials are included in the cost.\nClick here for a list of nearby hotel options. \nIf cost is a hardship\, we have limited scholarship funds available; please complete the registration form accordingly. \nREFUND POLICY:\nCancellations must be submitted in writing (via email to info@familyrenewalproject.com). \nNotifications submitted before February 21\, 2025 (1 month before the retreat) will be refunded 100% of amount already paid. \nNotifications submitted between February 22 – March 7\, 2025 will be refunded 50% of amount already paid. \nNo refunds will be issued after March 7\, 2025.  \n\nRegister for Event\nFill out my online form.

SUMMARY:Wine & Wonder: Searching for and Maintaining Peace
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Michelle Owings \nWHO: Women 18+up (Nursing infants welcome) \nWHERE: The Burry Home: 622 Woodlake Drive \nWHEN: Tuesdays\, Jan 14\, 21\, & 28\, 2025 \nTIME: 6:30-8:30pm \nCOST: $15 + provide your own book \n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a women’s book study\, where we will discuss:\nSearching for and Maintaining Peace: A Small Treatise on Peace of Heart\nby Fr. Jacques Philippe \n\nWe live in a day and age characterized by an extraordinary amount of agitation and lack of peace. This tendency manifests itself in our spiritual as well as our secular life. \n\nIn our search for God and holiness\, in our service to our neighbor\, a kind of restlessness and anxiety take the place of the confidence and peace which ought to be ours. What must we do to overcome the moments of fear and distress which assail us all too often in our lives? How can we learn to place all our confidence in God and abandon ourselves into his loving care? This is what is taught in this simple\, yet profound little treatise on peace of heart. Taking concrete examples from our everyday life\, the author invites us to respond in a Gospel fashion to the upsetting situations we must all confront. Since peace of heart is a pure gift of God\, it is something we should seek\, pursue and ask him for without cease. This book is here to help us in that pursuit. \nThe writings of Fr. Jacques Philippe have become classics of modern Catholic spirituality! \nLearn more about the author HERE \n\nTo Register:\nFill out my online form.

Ben Cameron was born in Kokomo\, Indiana\, and grew up as a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. During his junior high and high school years\, he attended a small Christian school that was operated by a local Baptist church. It was in that non-Catholic environment\, where his faith was often challenged\, that he began to study the Catholic Faith. \nFr. Ben is a 1991 graduate of Christendom College\, a small Catholic liberal arts college in Front Royal\, Virginia\, where he became involved in a lay apostolate known as the Legion of Mary\, which awakened his desire to share his Catholic Faith with others. Upon receiving his degree in Political Science and History\, Fr. Ben planned a career in the political arena\, but soon found that God had other plans. He joined the Fathers of Mercy in 1992\, studied theology at Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell\, Connecticut\, and was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on May 31\, 1997. Fr. Ben has served as Vocation Director\, Treasurer\, Mission Director and Assistant General of the Fathers of Mercy during his priesthood. He has served as a full-time parish mission preacher and retreat master (2000-2018)\, and as pastor of St. Helen’s Parish\, Glasgow\, Kentucky\, and its mission church\, Our Lady of the Caves in Horse Cave\, Kentucky (2018-2022). Currently\, he is again serving as a full-time parish mission preacher and retreat master. \nThe Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy was founded in 1808\, originally under the title of the  “Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the  French people after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now an exclusively American community. The Generalate of the community is located a few miles outside of Bowling Green\, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats\, which are now given throughout the United States\, Canada and Australia. \n\nDuring this “Servants of the Secret Fire” retreat\, Fr. Ben will encourage and challenge participants to make a stronger\, deeper personal commitment to Jesus Christ and His Church and he gives multiple talks on “The Christian Vocation in the Lord of the Rings.” \nSPACE IS LIMITED! Fr. Stinissen gently places before us the very stairway into the heart of divine love that so enamored those great saints\, like Saint Therese of Lisieux\, Saint Teresa of Avila\, and Saint John of the Cross\, who discovered a deep and trusting intimacy with Our Lord within the simplicity of each day’s circumstances. This beautiful and often hidden stairway is that of surrender to the will of God. \nIn this book\, Fr. Stinissen leads us through a contemplation of three particular stages along the way of surrender\, reflecting on each from the perspective of the heart of Christ and with the help of the scriptures. This book has a gentle profoundness to it\, the kind that touches the very heart of the struggles we often face in the course of our daily comings and goings in our homes\, our calendars\, in our prayer\, and the labor of our vocations. \nA very special experience awaits those who participate! \nDue to the nature of this group\, participation is limited to 16 participants. Don’t delay\, sign up now! \n\nTo Register:\nFill out my online form.
