SUMMARY:Life-Giving Wounds Retreat
DESCRIPTION:  \nFamily Renewal Project is pleased to sponsor\nthe inaugural Life-Giving Wounds Retreat in Louisville\nMarch 21-23\, 2025\non the campus of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church\n1104 S 6th Street\, Louisville\, KY 40203 \nTo register\, please complete the form below. \nClick HERE for a list of nearby hotel options. \nRetreat Info:\nNo matter your age when it happened\, the effects of your parents’ divorce or separation are deep and long-lasting. Life-Giving Wounds is a national ministry specifically for adults (18+) whose parents are divorced or separated — providing a unique opportunity for men and women who are the children of divorced or separated parents to give voice to their pain and experience Christ’s transformational healing\, together with peers who know the challenges that broken homes cause. \nOn the retreat\, participants will hear inspiring witness talks from fellow adult children of divorce; discuss their own experiences in compassionate peer-led small groups; receive many opportunities for prayer\, the sacraments and more. The retreat will cover the following topics: grieving the loss\, rediscovering our identity\, recovering our faith\, regulating our emotions\, growing in virtue\, striving for forgiveness\, establishing boundaries\, and more. \nThe chaplain for the Louisville retreat will be Fr. John Baptist Hoang\, OP. Learn more about Father HERE. \nEspecially during the season of Lent\, this retreat will be a great way to start or continue the journey of healing. Come for a greater understanding of the wound left by your parents’ divorce or separation\, for advice concerning love and trust of others\, and for an experience of Christ and community that will lead to greater self-understanding and healing. \nThe Louisville retreat will be held onsite at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church (1104 S 6th Street; Louisville\, KY 40203). This is a commuter retreat. Lodging is not provided. Click here for a list of nearby hotel options. \nLife-Giving Wounds retreats are Catholic retreats and include sacraments (Eucharist and Confession) and Catholic spiritual practices such as the Divine Mercy Chaplet. At the same time\, we try to make everyone feel welcome\, regardless of their religious background. The key commonality of all retreatants is the pain of parental divorce or separation. For non-Catholics\, we provide options of personal prayer times if individuals do not want to participate in a certain activity. And\, if desired\, retreat leaders can “walk through” the retreat with a non-Catholic in advance\, to explain the different and possibly unfamiliar elements. \nClick HERE for answers to Frequently Asked Questions. \nDAILY SCHEDULE & BASIC OVERVIEW:\nFriday\, March 21 — 7pm – 9pm\nSnacks & Drinks\nIntroductions / Overview / Opening Session \nSaturday\, March 22 — 8am – 8:30pm\n(with optional social hour til 9:30pm)\nBreakfast\, Lunch\, & Dinner + Snacks & Drinks\nTalks / Small Groups / Personal Time\nDaily Mass\, Adoration\, & Sacrament of Reconciliation \nSunday\, March 23 — 8am – 3:30pm\nBreakfast & Lunch + Snacks & Drinks\nFinal Talks / Small Groups / Personal Time\nSunday Mass \nCOST:\nMust be at least 18 years old \n$175 per person\n$125 for college students and missionaries \nDaily meals\, snacks\, drinks\, and all retreat materials are included in the cost.\nClick here for a list of nearby hotel options. \nIf cost is a hardship\, we have limited scholarship funds available; please complete the registration form accordingly. \nREFUND POLICY:\nCancellations must be submitted in writing (via email to info@familyrenewalproject.com). \nNotifications submitted before February 21\, 2025 (1 month before the retreat) will be refunded 100% of amount already paid. \nNotifications submitted between February 22 – March 7\, 2025 will be refunded 50% of amount already paid. \nNo refunds will be issued after March 7\, 2025.  \n\nRegister for Event\nFill out my online form.

For see\, the winter is past\, the rains are over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth\, the time of pruning the vines has come\, and the song of the dove is heard in our land. This tendency manifests itself in our spiritual as well as our secular life. \n\nIn our search for God and holiness\, in our service to our neighbor\, a kind of restlessness and anxiety take the place of the confidence and peace which ought to be ours. What must we do to overcome the moments of fear and distress which assail us all too often in our lives? How can we learn to place all our confidence in God and abandon ourselves into his loving care? This is what is taught in this simple\, yet profound little treatise on peace of heart. Taking concrete examples from our everyday life\, the author invites us to respond in a Gospel fashion to the upsetting situations we must all confront. Since peace of heart is a pure gift of God\, it is something we should seek\, pursue and ask him for without cease. This book is here to help us in that pursuit. \nThe writings of Fr. Jacques Philippe have become classics of modern Catholic spirituality! \nLearn more about the author HERE \n\nTo Register:\nFill out my online form.

Ben Cameron was born in Kokomo\, Indiana\, and grew up as a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. During his junior high and high school years\, he attended a small Christian school that was operated by a local Baptist church. It was in that non-Catholic environment\, where his faith was often challenged\, that he began to study the Catholic Faith. \nFr. Ben is a 1991 graduate of Christendom College\, a small Catholic liberal arts college in Front Royal\, Virginia\, where he became involved in a lay apostolate known as the Legion of Mary\, which awakened his desire to share his Catholic Faith with others. Upon receiving his degree in Political Science and History\, Fr. Ben planned a career in the political arena\, but soon found that God had other plans. He joined the Fathers of Mercy in 1992\, studied theology at Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell\, Connecticut\, and was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on May 31\, 1997. Fr. Ben has served as Vocation Director\, Treasurer\, Mission Director and Assistant General of the Fathers of Mercy during his priesthood. He has served as a full-time parish mission preacher and retreat master (2000-2018)\, and as pastor of St. Helen’s Parish\, Glasgow\, Kentucky\, and its mission church\, Our Lady of the Caves in Horse Cave\, Kentucky (2018-2022). Currently\, he is again serving as a full-time parish mission preacher and retreat master. \nThe Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy was founded in 1808\, originally under the title of the  “Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the  French people after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now an exclusively American community. The Generalate of the community is located a few miles outside of Bowling Green\, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats\, which are now given throughout the United States\, Canada and Australia. \n\nDuring this “Servants of the Secret Fire” retreat\, Fr. Ben will encourage and challenge participants to make a stronger\, deeper personal commitment to Jesus Christ and His Church and he gives multiple talks on “The Christian Vocation in the Lord of the Rings.” \nSPACE IS LIMITED! DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Julia O’Connor and April Teegarden \nWHO: Women 18+up (Nursing infants welcome) \nWHERE: The Burry Home: 622 Woodlake Drive \nWHEN: Wednesdays\, Nov 6\, Nov 13\, Nov 20\, (Skip Nov 27)\, Dec 4\, Dec 11\, & Dec 18\, 2024 \nTIME: 6:30-8:30pm \nCOST: $25 \n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a women’s book study\, where we will discuss:\nInto Your Hands\, Father: Abandoning Ourselves to the God Who Love Us\nby Wilfrid Stinissen \nThis small book is a treasure! Fr. Stinissen gently places before us the very stairway into the heart of divine love that so enamored those great saints\, like Saint Therese of Lisieux\, Saint Teresa of Avila\, and Saint John of the Cross\, who discovered a deep and trusting intimacy with Our Lord within the simplicity of each day’s circumstances. This beautiful and often hidden stairway is that of surrender to the will of God. \nIn this book\, Fr. Stinissen leads us through a contemplation of three particular stages along the way of surrender\, reflecting on each from the perspective of the heart of Christ and with the help of the scriptures. This book has a gentle profoundness to it\, the kind that touches the very heart of the struggles we often face in the course of our daily comings and goings in our homes\, our calendars\, in our prayer\, and the labor of our vocations. \nA very special experience awaits those who participate! \nDue to the nature of this group\, participation is limited to 16 participants. Don’t delay\, sign up now! \n\nTo Register:\nFill out my online form.

SUMMARY:Preparation for Total Consecration
DESCRIPTION:Please watch this short intro video to learn more! \n\nInvitation\nFor quite some time\, the Family Renewal Project Leadership Team has discerned an invitation for our entire Team to unite in consecrating (or reconsecrating) ourselves and specifically the Apostolate of FRP to Mary. As plans were coming together for our Fully Alive banquet (which providentially falls on the Feast of our Patron\, Saint John Paul II — whose papal motto was Totus Tuus “Totally Yours” Mary) the discernment escalated and it became clear that now is the time! But not just for our Team … for individuals\, couples and families throughout the archdiocese … now is the time! \nIn solidarity the FRP Team will begin the 33 days of preparation on Tuesday\, November 5 and our Date of Consecration will be Sunday\, December 8 — the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. We hope you will join us in this amazing journey\, however\, a (re)consecration can be made/started on any day! \nPlease complete the registration form below! \nWhat’s Involved?\nYour level of involvement is up to you!  \n\nThe daily readings from the Preparation for Total Consecration to the Immaculate according to St. Maximilian Kolbe booklet will take only a few minutes each day; however\, you may choose any book/method of Marian Consecration.\n\n\nYou can also choose to watch a daily video produced by Gabriel Costillo that corresponds to the Maximilian Kolbe booklet. Gabe is a young husband\, father\, and youth minister in Texas who is devoted to spreading the beauty and power of Marian devotion.\n\n\nYou can proceed through the days of preparation and make your consecration completely on your own or with a friend\, spouse\, family\, prayer/bible study group\, etc. You can form your own group. OR you can join the FRP Team and/or others from throughout the area for weekly prayer and discussion — see options and dates below.\n\nPlease complete the registration form below! \nDates\nYour Preparation &/or renewal of Consecration can begin/end on any day\, but concluding on a Marian Feast Day is highly recommended. \nThe FRP Team and others in Louisville will begin the Preparation on Tuesday\, Nov 5. \nConsecration Day will be Sunday\, Dec 8\, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. \nOptional (but encouraged) — Weekly prayer and discussion with others who are preparing for Consecration will be held virtually or in-person: \n\nVirtually with the FRP Team on Friday afternoons: Nov 1 – Dec 6 (3-4pm)\nIn-Person led by Bryan Cain on Saturday mornings: Nov 2 – Dec 7 (8:30-9:30 am) at St. John Paul II Parish (3539 Goldsmith Lane\, Louisville\, KY 40220).\n\nOptional (but encouraged) — In-person Consecration and Holy Mass at 9:00 am at St. John Paul II Catholic Church on Sunday\, Dec 8 \nPlease complete the registration form below! \nBenefits\nConsecrating yourself to Jesus through Mary is the quickest\, surest\, and easiest way to holiness and will yield many spiritual graces.  \nNeed accountability to make it through a 33-day commitment? Gather with others on Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings. \nAlready consecrated to the Blessed Mother and want to renew your Consecration? Now is the time! \nIn our hectic day and time\, Saint Pope John Paul II\, Saint Louis deMontfort\, Saint Maximilian Kolbe\, Saint Mother Teresa\, Saint Josemaría Escrivá\, Venerable Fulton Sheen and others\, knew that the quickest way to be transformed into a saint is to encounter Jesus through a relationship with Our Blessed Mother\, Mary. If you’re looking for a simple way to be spiritually renewed\, develop a deeper relationship with Our Merciful Savior\, and grow in holiness\, join us for a Consecration to Jesus through Mary. \nIf you go through the days of preparation with others\, you will be strengthened and encouraged along the way by their faith and witness\, have the opportunity to be a witness to others\, develop new friendships\, and build the local Catholic community. \nPlease complete the registration form below! \nMaterials (Booklets and Optional Videos)\nThere are a wide variety of Consecration methods/books available. FRP has chosen this version according to Saint Maximilian Kolbe. It is very good\, not complicated\, doesn’t take much time\, AND every day has an accompanying video (if you choose to use them). \nIf you don’t already have the booklet\, you can order it HERE \, or FRP has booklets available for a donation while supplies last. Books can be picked up on Saturday\, November 2 at Saint John Paul II Catholic Church or other arrangements can be made. \nAccess daily videos produced by Gabriel Castillo HERE. \nPlease complete the registration form below! \nHave Questions or Need More Information?\nCall/Text: 502.303.1996\nEmail: info@familyrenewalproject.com or bcain@stjpiiparish.com \nRegister for Event\nFill out my online form.
