Lectio Divina was introduced in the early Church by St. Gregory of Nyssa (c 330- 395) and is translated as “Divine (or Holy) Reading.” It is a very gentle and non-confrontational practice and perfect to do with your spouse or girlfriend/boyfriend. This Divine Reading can give you insight into Scripture and each other as you draw closer to God.
If reading Scripture or spiritual exercises are unfamiliar in your relationship, now in the New Year is a great time to start! The way it will draw your hearts together cannot be quantified. It will help you to become the kind of partner you want to be. It will help strengthen your spiritual life and dedication to the Lord, and show you ways you can live a more victorious Christian life.
