Inspired Level 1: An Advanced Seminar on The Wonders of Genesis

Inspiration comes to us in many ways. However, God anticipates our needs as a Bridegroom and gives us true spiritual nourishment in deeply profound ways, especially when we seek it out.

If you are seeking truth, goodness, and beauty on a level that can bring healing, peace, and trust in a merciful Father, this course may play a key role in your ability to discover and share such love.

Inspired: The Wonders of Genesis is an advanced seminar and includes a comprehensive study guide to aid in receptivity and openness to the Holy Spirit. This is the beginning of FRP’s flagship formation series designed to guide participants through the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit and to fullness of the truth about our unique call to love.

All highly-motivated and receptive parents, teachers, catechists, and other adults are invited to be Inspired!

Level 1 – The Wonders of Genesis focuses on the beauty of God’s Creation through the lens of spousal love with JPII’s Theology of the Body as our guiding thread. Level 2 – Understanding Exodus and Level 3 – The Purpose of Christmas will be offered later this year.

Courses are approved for ArchLou Catechist Credit.

During our time together, you will:

• Renew an awareness of the dignity and beauty of the human person
• Experience a deeper appreciation for God’s creation
• Explore the gift of Wonder & Awe through the lens of Theology of the Body
• Discover your story through the mystery of God who became flesh

Anyone seeking Catechist Credit through the ArchLou Office of Faith Formation, must pre-register (for your convenience, we can submit an invoice to your parish or school).

In addition to the study guide, we will provide drinks and snacks throughout the day.

For lunch: you can either bring your own or pre-pay when you register and we will have lunch available for you. ($12 per lunch)

Facilitator:

John Sohl serves full-time as the Director of Discipleship for Family Renewal Project. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University who loves hunting, fishing, hiking, theater, videography, and playing baseball.

After discerning the call to the priesthood, John transitioned from seminary to the role of discipleship leader in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Some may say “youth minister,” but after five years of dedication to youth, John realized that developing disciples is the ultimate goal.

John has attended and led pilgrimages to the last 5 World Youth Days: Madrid, Spain; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Kraków, Poland; Panama City, Panamá; and Lisbon, Portugal (accompanied by his wife, Crystal).

For over six years (2015-2022), John served as the only male chastity instructor in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Every school year he and one of his female counterparts would teach a multi-day course at over 40 schools (Catholic, private, and public).

In March 2022, John became the first and remains the only person in the Archdiocese of Louisville to complete his master’s level coursework [eight 30-hour immersion courses, testing, papers, and an in-depth practicum] and receive the distinguished Certification in Theology of the Body from the TOB Institute — a major accomplishment!

Together, John and his wife, Crystal, strive to understand, embrace, and live Theology of the Body! They were married in October of 2019 and after four years of infertility, they welcomed their first child (a daughter) in September of 2024.
